Kyneton Races

Horse Racing in Australia is as popular as football and cricket. Every state has beautifully laid out race courses in almost all districts. Australia has been home to many champion thoroughbreds. The Kyneton Racecourse maintained by the Kyneton race club is situated in Victoria. The Kyneton races are the pride of district racing in Victoria. This well set out and irrigated race course has a circumference of 1616 metres and a home straight of 250 metres. This is unique because only horses that can run close to the circle can expect to do well. Normally races are conducted throughout the year.

One of the most awaited Kyneton Races is the Kyneton Cup. As the race is usually held one day after the Melbourne Cup, the thoroughbreds of the Melbourne Cup form guide make way for a new field of top contenders. This event is grandeur and the biggest of all spring parties. As with all racing carnivals, there are fashions with loads of fantastic prizes for the fashionably conscious. It is seven days of fun, excitement, glamour and dining. Thousands of fun-loving Australians visit the Kyneton race course with family and friends.Kyneton Races

The 2008 Kyneton Cup was a gala event and the winner, Mark Pegas, rode Whos Ya Daddy past the post. The trainer, John McArdle, was a proud man on race day. This gritty horse had just missed the Cup in the previous year’s race, but this time his jockey left no stone unturned. A number of celebrities turned out for the event and some of them judged the entrants in the Fashion on the Field Contest.

Australia Day is celebrated in style at the Kyneton racing club when a seven race event is run. What better way to celebrate the day? It is a gala fest once again, with food and wine and the punters in action once more.

Nowadays, there is no need to go out of your way to attend race day. You can place all your bets online. It doesn’t matter if the race is in a small town or the largest city in Australia, you will find an online bookie that is taking bets on the race. When you place your bets online on the Kyneton race track, you will experience convenience and straightforward betting.
